“Each and every one of us can make changes in the way we live our lives and become part of the solution [to climate change]”

- Al Gore, 45th Vice President of the United States, 'An Inconvenient Truth' (2006)
“This has got to be bigger than any party, any business, or anyone of us. We will create the environment of the future, either through action or inaction. We have a choice.”

- John Duggan, CEO, Gazeley (2006)
‘Going Green’ is the buzz phrase of the moment, with industries across the board seeking to minimise their environmental impact. Adopting eco-friendly practises, whether as a business or as individuals and families at home is fast becoming a priority. Reducing environmental impact for the long-term benefit of the planet is not something which should be approached lightly or adopted purely to be part of the ‘Green Scene’; but part of a long term plan to alter our entire approach to living.

We are aiming to do just that, and below are some the actions we have already taken and will be employing in the future to ensure our practices as an Events company will have minimal effect on our environment.

(And remember the success to reducing impacts on the environment about changing our entire lifestyles; and beginning at home or in the office is a great way to start!).
We strive to implement the following for all our events:

• Use LED lights
• Recycle wood and fabric used for set builds and dressing
• Purchase wood from companies sourcing from managed forests
• Turn off and unplug electric tools not being used
• Minimise set and prop build waste
• Limit and reduce transport use and mileage
We strive to implement the following within our regular working environment:

• Turn off all PC’s overnight
• Recycle paper; and print on both sides where possible before doing so
• Bulk buy office supplies to reduce delivery transport use
Eco-friendly idea for your next event:

Use potted trees and plants rather than cut flowers for plinth displays and table centres to create unique and interesting features!
